The Miss Boyd Museum
The museum is located in the same building as the Shop, boat and shipping museum. In the 1930s, the American polar researcher Miss Boyd hired the Arctic ocean liner "Veslekari", belonging to the Aarsethreiar team, for four expeditions to Greenland. Miss Boyd was a legendary lady, who grew up in St. Rafael, San Francisco. Gold mines in California gave her a large fortune through inheritance. She spent much of her inheritance on her expeditions to the polar regions.
The museum is open by appointment.
