Axel Frønes is an everyday poet and singer-songwriter from Åfjorden in Trøndelag. When lockdown came in March 2020, he wrote his first poem and posted it on Instagram. Three years later, Frønes is one of Norway's most popular new poets, with almost 50K followers on Instagram and three best-selling poetry collections in Norwegian bookstores. He has released eight singles, including "Nånn daga", which he co-wrote with Trygve Skaug. Most people probably discovered Axel Frønes on The Voice when he moved Matoma to tears. Aasentunet is pleased to invite you to a pre-show on Sunday, April 28 at 14.00 with festival poet Knut Ødegård. Knut will talk with Peder Gravem, and read excerpts from a number of selected works. Ødegård lives in Molde and Reykjavik. Themes such as human dignity, mental illness and dementia, religion and different cultures are often reflected in his poetry. The Festspel exhibition opens on this day. The exhibition contains personal objects and books on loan from festival poet Knut Ødegård and gives you the opportunity to get to know both the authorship and the festival poet as a person. How does a person cope with losing their mother and an older brother to cancer and having six different types of cancer themselves? This is the story of twins Magne and Åge Grimstad and their fight against cancer. It is mostly about their courage and joy of life. They share their story at Stødt on May 2. "Ej and my brother" - is a performance about lust for life and cancer." There may be both tears and laughter. The readings are free of charge.

Ingebjørg Bratland and Odd Nordstoga have finally joined forces for a new project! Their first single "Ingenting å vera redd for" was released this spring. It kicked off a busy year for the popular duo. On May 3, they come to Ørsta and play songs from their brand new album "Langt heimafrå", an album partly recorded in Ireland and with the Atlantic Ocean right outside the studio window. It is now ten years since the duo last recorded the album "Heimafrå" to great acclaim, and at this concert there may also be a chance to hear some fine songs that have been lingering - long enough.

This time, Vassendgutane will be joined by Sie Gubba at their annual event in Ørstahallen. JILB is closing the jazz café season at Tredet. The title JILB conceals the initials of John Inge Leira Bjøringsøy. He is an organist in Ørsta and a goat farmer on Leira in the Hjørundfjord, but not least a much-used and popular pianist. The keyword here is versatility - both in genre and expression; here you get everything from the simple and gentle to the technically advanced and striking. This is the first time John Inge has fronted a project, and he does so with simple elegance! In competition, Carlos Alberici sits on drums and Svein Hunnes on bass.

This evening there will be a Eurovision Song Contest final on the big screen in the café and a drag show with the legendary House of Divas on stage. The opening concert at Utescena on Thursday June 6 will feature Odin Staveland, under the stage name Odin. He is known to many as the songwriter, vocalist and drummer in Vamp. The multi-artist has also created his own music for film and theater, and participated, produced and written music for some of the country's most famous artists.
