Norsk kornølfestival (Norwegian grain beer festival)

The festival is the only one in the world that displays a non-material cultural heritage in beer brewing. This is a tradition that is particularly well known in Western Norway.

Beer brewers of craft beer from several places in the country will come to the festival.

Here the traditional brewers meet and serve their beer and tell about the brewing process. Some of these will take the family kveik  (traditional Norwegian yeast for beer brewing) with them and distribute it to those who want it.

The farm brewers serve beer for the first part of the day. Eventually they take over the commercial brewery and sell their beer brands.

In October you can take the trip to Grodås and Hornindal for a taste of grain beer with kveik.
