Festival exhibition //Kunsthuset, Ørsta

Festival exhibitor Damien Ajavon. Photo: Mallory Lowe

Influenced by both African and Western culture, the desire to combine cultures and create something new and beautiful is central to Ajavon's work. The works reflect a personal exploration of identity and other personal themes, and the desire to share inspiring stories through textile art. In this way, Ajavon conveys both personal and universal narratives of identity and cultural heritage through her work.

The artist will be present at the opening on Thursday and talk about his art. Susanne Svenseid, director of the Norwegian Art Associations, will also be present. She will introduce this year's festival artist and talk about the debutant prize Ajavon was awarded last year.

The exhibition opens on June 6 at 16.30

Free entry.
