Astri Eidseth Rygh is one of the most diverse living artists we have.

She has her education from Volda Pedagogical College, Bingley College of Art in England, Ålesund Art School and Medielina, Volda University College, Film and Video.

Throughout her life, she has explored many different art forms and has worked as a set designer for dance performances, made videos and short films and has worked with text creation, to name a few areas, but she is probably best known for her visual art, primarily oil paintings, but also watercolors and graphic works, and for her many installations. She reached a high point in her career with the installation "Tellus Egg", which took center stage during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994.

In addition to being a highly regarded national artist, Astri Eidseth Rygh has had an extensive international career with exhibitions and/or performances in England, Denmark, Italy, France, Switzerland and the USA.

Many people in our region are looking forward to meeting the person and artist Astri Eidseth Rygh and her works again when she exhibits on home turf, and the board of the art team would like to welcome everyone to Kunsthuset both for a chat and for a good art experience.
